The Cape Jewish Seniors' Association is thrilled that there will be a professional CD of the highlights of this year’s Yiddish Song Festival.

In past years a DVD providing an overview of the Festival has been produced. Last year the 2007 Yiddish Song Festival titled ‘Sholem, Sholem – Songs from the Heart’ was shown to much acclaim as part of the YIVO Summer Programme in Chicago. The one question asked after the screening was: “How come in Chicago, with a population of over 200,000 Jews, we’ve never had a Yiddish Song Festival?”
