It seems strange that AWB supporters are now displaying solidarity with the Israeli flag, when their members have had a past history of (very) publically burning the same flag.

Arthur Kemp recounts a story of one of these incidents in his book “Victory Or Violence - The Story of the AWB of South Africa.”

On page 100 of the book, Kemp describes an AWB response to the unbanning of the ANC in 1990. The AWB held a march from Church Square to the Union Buildings in Pretoria on 10 Feb 1990.

"About four thousand people took part in the march, which was marked by an open and vehement anti-Jewish streak,” writes Kemp. “Before Terre'Blanche arrived, an Israeli Star of David flag was publically burnt by a number of people.”

There are other accounts of AWB members’ vehement anti-Semitism and of the burning of Israeli flags.

(Actions such as these would likely be illegal in today’s SA)

I was most alarmed to see

I was most alarmed to see our flag tied to ET's fence along with all those bad memories ... I thought it was a joke ...
