Be My Guest, by Fay Lewis, won the South African leg of the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2009 in the category Best Entertaining Cookbook.

Fay’s brilliant book, first published in November 2009, will compete against winners in the same category from other participating countries for The Best in the World award. The results will be announced on 11 February 2010 at theatre Le 104 at the Paris Cookbook Fair.

In her book Fay presents a do-it-yourself guide to successful entertaining. Not only will this remove all the stress from entertaining, but it will allow you to enjoy yourself while your guests will be hoping for the next invitation!

Absolutely everything is covered: planning, table settings, serving the meal, food and wine pairing, as well as the correct glassware, dinnerware, utensils and flower arrangements, with tips and suggestions throughout.

Nothing is left to chance when you follow Fay’s guidelines. Occasions are divided into themes and include breakfasts, brunches, lunches, cocktails, dinner parties, picnics, buffets, tea parties, casual get-togethers and festive celebrations.

Naturally, menus and a wide range of recipes are provided to cater for all these events. The title is illustrated with beautiful food and table photography in full colour, as well as colour illustrations of table settings.
