Genesis sold, not under Beth Din

The Johannesburg Beth din issued a 25-word kashrut alert today, stating:
“Genesis Super Spar has been sold and therefore with immediate effect the kosher sections are no longer under the supervision of the Johannesburg Beth Din.”

We understand that the new owner is the owner of Savoy Spar and that negotiations have been taking place for several months.

MyShtetl has been unable to reach either the old or the new owner for comment, but rumours abound in the community are that the new owner will not continue to rent the downstairs section which is presently a kosher-only environment.

We will stay close to the developments and keep our users informed.

"25 words"? "shortest notice

"25 words"? "shortest notice ever" - phew, at least we know you can count on the UOS :) DS.

Why call a spade a spade

Why call a spade a spade when you can call it an implement with which to dig.

How about doing something like the candle lighting time listed on the right of MyShtetl e.g.
Genesis Spar: OUT
Faff: GONE
Fry's: Not frum enough.
